TAK Lite Privacy Policy

Data Collection

TAK Lite collects your device's GPS location while the app is in use and in the background (when tracking is enabled). This location data is sent exclusively to the TAK server you configure in the app's settings. No location data or personal information is sent to the developer or any third party.

Data Stored on Device

• Server connection settings (address, port)

• Your callsign, team color, and role

• TLS certificates for server authentication

• A locally generated unique identifier (UID)

All data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms.

Data Shared with Your TAK Server

When connected, TAK Lite sends the following to your configured TAK server:

• GPS coordinates, altitude, speed, and bearing

• Your callsign, team color, and role

• Device battery level

• Emergency alerts (if triggered by you)

This data is visible to other users connected to the same TAK server. The developer has no access to your TAK server or the data transmitted to it.

Camera

The camera is used solely for scanning QR codes during server enrollment. No photos or video are stored or transmitted.

Third-Party Services

TAK Lite uses Apple MapKit to display maps. Apple's standard map tile requests apply per Apple's privacy policy. No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included.

Data Retention

The developer does not collect or retain any user data. Data on your configured TAK server is governed by that server's administrator.
